National Youth Policy Review Multistakeholder Dialogue is a forum that focuses on bringing together leaders from the civil society, international organizations, academic institutions, think tanks and the government of the United Republic of Tanzania to discuss various challenges and gaps that exist on the current National Youth Development Policy of 2007 and propose way forward on how those gaps and challenges can be dealt with so as to smoother the implementation of the policy itself as well as benefiting youth with respect to their participation in the decision making processes in all issues around social, political and economic development. Moreover, the dialogue will act as a platform for the youth and other stakeholders to learn from each other, discuss challenges they face and propose a way forward to address them.
Goal: Establish a platform for youth to interact with key stakeholders to discuss challenges and policy gaps that exist in the current National Youth Development Policy that hindering their participation in decision making processes in the social, political and economic sector.
Objectives
• Bring youth closer to the development partners, government, research institutions, grantmakers and private sector and showcase opportunities, programs or tools that young people can benefit from.
• Identifying policy gaps in the current National Youth Development Policy that hindering the inclusiveness of youth in the social, political and economic sector.
• Create opportunities for dialogue and engagement among key stakeholders towards youth inclusiveness in decision making processes.
• Establish a platform for youth, the civil society and the government to learn, strengthen the network and share knowledge, skills, and experiences among themselves.
• Build the capacity of stakeholders from the Youth Cluster CSOs, Youth-led CSOs on national and international youth rights advocacy and engagement.
The event is expected to take place in Dar es salaam, on 24th August 2018. The deadline for application is 5th August 2018.
