ALU is recruiting a facilitator for their Projects class

ALU is recruiting a facilitator for their Projects class.
If you know someone who has an interest in education, entrepreneurship and some experience prior, tell them to apply

FROM ALU

We are looking for someone who is interested in translating project management skills from the industry to students in an education setting to be our Projects Facilitator. If you have always been interested in education but are also excited by dealing with corporate clients, then this role is definitely for you. It combines the best of both worlds: managing clients portfolios and building relationships with them while teaching students soft skills to deliver real life projects.
 WHAT IS THE PROJECTS COURSE?
Projects is a Leadership Core course that gives students the opportunity to work on real-world projects, similar to those that first-year hires (or interns) would be asked to do when starting employment at a company. Over the course of their first year, students work on a number of such projects, across a range of industries and sectors, while focusing on particular skills over time. Throughout the year students learn to define and structure problems and craft context driven and actionable recommendations. This course gives them the opportunity to experience actual work situations, working on projects for real organisations, with a representative from the organisation itself working with them as their ‘manager’. Projects Faculty are responsible for facilitating the course, as well as managing the projects that students work on throughout their first year at ALU.

  • Ability to liaise with and manage stakeholders of varying levels (from junior to senior stakeholders)
  • Ability to engage and facilitate large group conversations, without lecturing or commanding center stage, or be willing to build that skill very quickly.

  • Capable of quickly identifying the strengths and weaknesses in a deliverable, and asking exactly the right question(s) to help someone else see it too
  • Passion for working with young people
  • An iterative mindset  - the ability to develop and implement recommendations
  • The ability to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience making data-driven decisions
